There are not as many “looky loos” in the winter months when it’s cold outside. You may have fewer showings but more qualified, serious buyers in the winter months. And let’s face it, that’s what you really want anyway!

Many sellers opt to not put their home on the market in the last couple months and first couple months of the year; therefore, you will have less competition. Less competition means better chances of selling for more money. For instance, in June there may be 30 homes like yours on the market, in December/January there may be just 10.


3. Biggest Transfer Time

More corporate moves happen in January than any other month of the year. Transferees who need to buy a house now, cannot wait until spring. Typically, transferees fly in and view 10-12 homes and then write an offer on one of them before flying back home. Don’t miss out on those extremely serious buyers by waiting until spring.
